We've been inspired by vodka a time or two before. This time, it is Smirnoff's ad campaign that is giving us the giggles.
The ad pokes fun at the Russia-hacking controversy surrounding the 2016 presidential election and President Trump's alleged ties to Russia. It's one more bold example of a brand addressing politics-- a formerly taboo approach because it risks consumer-brand polarization. Another beverage brand, Anheuser-Busch, did it with their 2017 Super Bowl commercial by addressing the Trump administration's immigration stance. Whereas AB's ad tugged on the heartstrings, Smirnoff's ad tickles the funnybone... And we like it.
